It is a sequel to Jumanji Joe Johnston, 1995
is considered the third film in the Jumanji film series after Zathura: A Space Adventure (Jon Favreau, 2005) which is also adapted from the children's story book series by Chris Van Allsburg , Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ( Jake Kasdan , 2017) was able to provide great success for Columbia Pictures when the film managed to collect revenue of more than US $ 960 million during its worldwide release. Well … of course it came as no surprise when a year later Columbia Pictures announced that it would produce a sequel for itJumanji: Welcome to the Jungle with Kasdan back in the directing chair and Dwayne Johnson , Jack Black , Kevin Hart , and Karen Gillan coming back to bring their central characters to life. As can be seen from the title itself, Jumanji: The Next Level , this film promises to deliver a level of fun that is more than its predecessor film. The objective is quite capable of being fulfilled - although with some plots that seem to hold back the quality of this film's presentation from going further.
Continuing the narrative of the previous film, Jumanji: The Next Level begins his adventure when Spencer Gilpin ( Alex Wolff ) revives and plays the video game Jumanji that he should have destroyed. Of course, Spencer Gilpin then magically got into the game. The entry of Spencer Gilpin into the game clearly brings a feeling of anxiety to his three close friends, Bethany Walker ( Madison Iseman ), Anthony Johnson or who is more commonly known as Fridge ( Ser'Darius Blain ), and Martha Kaply ( Morgan Turner ). Worried that Spencer Gilpin will not be able to finish Jumanji lateralone so they failed to get out of the game, Bethany Walker, Anthony Johnson, and Martha Kaply finally chose to catch up with Spencer Gilpin and also play Jumanji . Surprisingly, this time the game didn't just suck the three friends into it. Spencer Gilpin's grandfather, Eddie Gilpin ( Danny DeVito ), who was talking with his old friend, Milo Walker ( Danny Glover ), was also trapped in and forced to play a game that could threaten their lives.

If the use of the title Jumanji: The Next Level is used to show that this latest film from Jumanji is able to present a more diverse story-telling location, more jokes, as well as increased acting challenges than its predecessor series ... well ... this film might be considered successful to do it. The story script written by Kasdan together with the duo of writers Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg ( Venom , 2018) is presented with a fresher line of jokes and will successfully entertain the audience. Jumanji: The Next Levelalso not only presenting the storyline in the setting of a location in a forestry area. The expansive natural view in the form of urban areas, deserts, to mountain peaks filled with snow clearly gives this film a refreshing new color. The new characters played by DeVito, Glover, and Awkwafina are also given ample space for the storytelling, which makes their presence in the storyline of the film quite meaningful.

As they showed in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle , the line-up of the film's acting department still feels warm and fun in presenting the characters they play. Johnson and Hart were even given a new challenge by presenting an imitation of the gestures and vocal intonation of DeVito and Glover when the characters Dr. Smolder Bravestone and Franklin Misbar, which they play, are filled by two characters played by the two senior actors. Jumanji: The Next Levelalso seemed to divert their attention from the character played by Johnson and give a slightly more portion to the character played by Gillan. The shift in "power" was initially awkward and seemed to waste Johnson's potential presence but was later strengthened by an impressive appearance by Gillan. Black and Hart themselves have also succeeded in utilizing the comical moments given to their characters to produce many effective entertainment offerings

Apart from the ability to present a level of fun that is quite equal to the previous film, Jumanji: The Next Level must be admitted that it cannot bring a touch of a story that is really new or fresh. Similar story formulas that were being explored again are slowly losing their appeal. And when the recurring storytelling is presented in a long enough duration, this film will clearly not be able to avoid feeling monotonous as well as the impression of failing to reach a higher potential story range. Lots of fun moments but obviously easy enough to forget.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle arguably came as an underdog in a box office competition in 2017. How could I not, this magical sequel to Jumanji (1995) played by Robin William was quite underestimated at first.

Nobody expected this sequel because Jumanji itself left a deep impression, especially for the '90s generation. But, in fact, this sequel has succeeded in attracting viewers who want to reminisce, as well as new viewers who may not have watched Jumanji.
Well, this year, the third film is back, still bringing the old old video game atmosphere that brings players into an adventure in a place called Jumanji. This time, Dwayne Johnson is back with Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas as the characters in Jumanji, plus Awkwafina as a new character who is an accomplished thief.
It's not just about Spencer
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle might look like a proof film for Spencer. From a limp and nerdy teenager who was not looked at at school, he could be someone who really relied on when he entered the video game.
Well, in this third film, you won't see the same premise. You see, in Jumanji: The Next Level , you will be replaced by the appearance of Eddie Gilpin (Danny DeVito), Spencer's grandfather, and his old friend, Milo Walker (Danny Glover).
