NBA Results: LeBron and De'Aaron Fox baskets to send the game into third overtime

LeBron James and De'Aaron Fox had an intense basket exchange in the second overtime of Friday's thrilling meeting between the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers .
With just seconds left to finish the second overtime, Fox hit a shot from mid-range. Then LeBron did what it took on the other side of the court to even the game.

In the end, the Sacramento team took the victory with a final score of 141-137, meaning one of the meetings with the most points in the 2021-22 NBA season.

The Los Angeles Lakers come from winning their tenth game of the 2021-22 NBA season and aspire to register a positive record after a duel against the Sacramento Kings this Friday, in which they will have both LeBron James and Anthony Davis without restrictions from the physical .
This game will be played at the Staples Center, Los Angeles. It can be seen via streaming through the  NBA League Pass

It took 63 minutes of basketball to determine a winner in the Kings' visit to Staples Center. The Sacramento team beat the Lakers 137-141 after playing three overtimes, taking a truly important victory in a game that ended up as a battle between two teams in great need. Both were exhausted after the enormous effort, but it was Gentry's who seemed to manage the attrition better to end up adding the win to their locker.

In such a prolonged clash, many figures emerged as important at specific moments, but if the Kings found a benchmark to hold on to on a regular basis, that was De'Aaron Fox. The point guard, who played 52 minutes, managed to score 34 points and distribute 8 assists, and starred in decisive actions such as the basket that put the tie in the absence of 21 seconds and forced the first overtime. In it, the Kings man threw himself fearlessly towards the rim and managed to score despite Davis' intimidation, managing to send the game into extra time thanks to LeBron's failure on the last possession.

In said extra time, the savior of the visitors was Buddy Hield, who was somewhat more irregular than Fox but seconded him in scoring with 25 points. The Bahamian, with five points in the last 30 seconds of overtime, was in charge of keeping his team on par with the Lakers, first with a very long triple and then with a very complicated basket on LeBron's defense that put the 112 -112 with only 3 seconds to go. A few seconds before, Davis had broken the equality with which it seemed the definitive basket, but Hield, touched by a wand in this section, took care to make it not so.

The battle continued for 10 more minutes, and after a second overtime in which the equality was not broken either, the Kings finally managed to take the game to third. With a partial 4-13, Gentry's men managed to distance themselves enough to finally caress the victory, making the last blows of the Angelenos sterile and allowing Hield to sentence from the free kick an agonizing duel that represents the eighth victory of Sacramento this season. The Californians add a balance of 2-1 since the departure of Luke Walton, and although the sample is still quite short, this morning they have managed to come out quite reinforced.

LeBron and Davis end up singled out
Quite the opposite occurs in the Lakers, unable to close a clash that they faced many times (+13 in the last quarter and several advantages in the final seconds) against a team that does not exactly seem like a direct rival. The Angelenos not only have not dispelled the doubts with which they started the course, but these seem to increase with the passing of the weeks and the rumors about possible changes are already beginning to sound. Yesterday it was known that the offices are already beginning to consider possible changes on the bench , and of course this meeting will enhance that conversation.

However, not only Vogel left the meeting marked. Despite his 30 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds, LeBron James signed a very improvable closing of the game both in decision-making and shooting accuracy, and in fact it was almost exclusively the free throws that allowed him to add in the final stretch. The forward finished with a poor 2/15 on 3s and 7 losses, and his attempt to save the team in overtime was rather unsuccessful.

No less criticized ended Anthony Davis, who added 23 points but seemed determined to live outside the painting, from where he contributed very little. Russell Westbrook, with a triple-double of 29 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, was surely the best of the locals, minimizing his defects (he shot with a 55.6% accuracy and only lost 3 balls) and trying to make play his own despite the general disorganization in attack. The point guard starred in several important actions in the clutch , but was not able to save some Lakers who added one of the most painful defeats of this stage.
